So… I’m here today to talk about bladder leakage, and with that Depend Silhouette Active Fit briefs as well. Us women go through so many changes during life, pregnancy and child birth change things, bladder leakage doesn’t just go away after being pregnant. For many of us, bladder leakage is something that continues after the baby is born, and even long after.
For me though, I’ve had a weak bladder my entire life! Add in pregnancy and childbirth times five, and the situation is worse than it would have been otherwise I’m sure. Those lovely “sneeze and leak” moments, added with my already “hardly feeling it until it’s urgent” have caused… some embarrassment. I was using pads for the situation, until I heard about the Depend Silhouette Active Fit.
It’s not an easy choice to buy something so obviously for an issue like this. Pads for bladder leakage? Ehh, no one bats and eye, but there was something about first deciding to buy underwear specifically for this issue that had me worried about it.
This is an older woman problem! Isn’t it? Needing underwear like this, almost like needing diapers or something. But it’s really not, most people with bladder leakage are actually in their 20’s instead of in the 80’s!
For me really, the Depend Silhouette Active Fit briefs are great for when I’ll be in public too long. They come in black and beige, and their lower rise they fit and feel like real underwear. At home, I’m close to a bathroom, so using a pad isn’t as much of a problem problem. Pads aren’t always the best when out and about, as they tend to not hold up to walking around as well, getting all bunched up and gross. These briefs though? Just what I needed.
Depend has had an Underwareness campaign for a couple of years now, actually this is the programs 3rd year! It’s a social movement on top of a charitable cause to end the stigma of bladder leakage for women. Depend is encouraging everyone to show their support for women with bladder leakage by sharing a photo or video using the hashtag #Underwareness. When you do, Depend will donate $1, up to $3 million, to fund charities that advance the research and education of bladder leakage.
This campaign runs through 2016, and it’s easy enough to help spread the word. Even if it’s not you who has bladder leakage, it might be someone who you know but might be too ashamed to say. Even if neither is the case, there are lots of people that will benefit from the research and education that comes from this campaign, so I highly encourage you to take part!
