Ohayo Minna-san!! Okay…. well it’s more like Konnichiwa here in a little bit…
Today I would like to introduce the iPad app FarFaria! This app is aimed at children ages 2-9 years old. Who better to try this app than my very own Lisi? Who turns 8 next month (nooo!!!)
FarFaria has a beautifully child friendly interface that makes finding stories for your kiddos fun and beautiful at the same time. The app is actually free to download from the itunes store. Which gives you access to one free story a day and no obligation to pay at that rate. Or you can pay $4 a month to have unlimited access to their over 600 stories (with five new ones being added each week!) as well as offline reading.
I had Lisi start with a free trial, and she liked the app as it was but really did want to read more. So we were given a free 6-months in order to have her fully experience the app. She was so happy and spends tons of time reading now. Which of course is great! There are so many books on there that I wouldn’t have thought to add to the house (lots of clutter so digital books are really great to have!) Plus I know that she’s not only playing dress-up games and draw-something on her iPad.
Here are some of FarFaria’s wonderful features:
Features
-
Unlimited reading from our library of more than 600 stories.
-
Five new, engaging stories added every week.
-
Interactive experience is fun for kids and easy for parents
-
Every story can be read aloud with a Read-to-Me feature.
-
Reading-level badge on every story cover.
-
Offline access to read Favorite stories
-
No advertising. No hidden fees.
Lisi now reads from FarFaria every day, and even as a free app I have to say it is one of the best we’ve come across as far as access to stories that are enjoyable for her age groups. I will likely continue to use FarFaria once Lisi is out of the age range for it (though she’s reading at a 4.5-5th grade reading level, she does enjoy children’s books as you can see.) because of the range starting at 2 years. This means I can even use the App for books to read to Risi, or even Lisi can read to her baby sister. Yay for sibling bonding time! 😉
For now, two Ohayo Okasan readers are able to win a three month subscription to FarFaria for themselves. I’d greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word about the giveaway, I’d love to give lots of people the chance to win. ^_^
