If you’re anything like me and many others, you’re spending a lot more time at home, and in front of a desk. Or if you work a desk/office type job, you’re used to some of the side effects of sitting too much. I know that I have the unfortunate tendency to sit incorrectly, and that causes sciatica issues with my back and leg. I know the stretches needed to try and make it go away for a bit, but between blogging and my day job as a delivery driver.. I sit a lot. One way to combat this was to look into standing desks, or a tall table originally to try and give me more time standing, but I also needed the ability to sit down on days that my fibromyalgia is kicking me energy wise.

The amount of space on this desk is perfect for my dual monitor set up, and since it’s not as deep as my last desk, I am forced to keep the area far less covered in random stuff. Meaning I’m more mindful of what I keep on my desk, and what I make sure to put in a better location that I can still find. As someone with executive function problems, a messy desk is something that’s far too easy for me to get into, and forget to take care of. One of the reasons I absolutely love having this standing desk is now I can raise up the desk, put on a workout video and the monitors are right where I can see them while I’m doing a dance work out, or any standing exercises. No more trying to crane my neck down or stand far enough back from my desk to be able to see without feeling like I am hurting my neck. As someone with significant shoulder and neck pain, that’s something I really needed.
Plus, once I get decent DDR type dance pads that are USB, I can start playing Step Mania with them and just stand in my office instead of trying to be out in the living room and in anyone’s way. I don’t have a ton of office space, but I like that I can make my setup work even better for me now that I have a standing desk. I only wish I would have had one sooner!
