If you’re like me, you didn’t spend a ton on a special smart TV or anything else. Well, you can upgrade your TV rather inexpensively thanks to Google Chromecast’s Streaming Media Player that you can get at Best Buy!
The unit plugs into a HDMI port on your TV, and gives you the power to stream your favorite shows, music, movies, YouTube, HBO NOW, play games, use Netflix and can use more than 2000 apps and photos from any of your families devices. You can finally cut the cord to cable like we have, if you’ve been meaning to do so.
You can even stream with just your voices, say what you want to watch via a compatible app and the Google Chromecast media player will control your TV hands-free. For example you can just say “Ok Google, play Orange Is the New Black from Netflix on my bedroom TV,” and Chromecast will take care of it.
Google Chromecast has high-speed wireless connectivity too, with built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi if you have Wi-Fi in the home like we do. It’s so odd to me that around here a lot of my kids’ friends only have internet on their phone and not on computers with household Wi-Fi. It’s just been so standard in our house I don’t even think about it.
I can’t wait to get a Google Chromecast streaming media player for my bedroom TV, as I have a streaming device in the living room already but not in my bedroom. Meaning that I use my bedroom TV less than once a month, which makes me feel like I wasted the money I spent on it. I can’t wait to be able to snuggle in bed and watch shows while the kids are playing video games on the living room TV.
Plus, while I’m crafting in my room I can listen to documentaries on YouTube and glance up occasionally. I look forward to getting more time in my own space but still getting to listen to music, watch tv, or watch YouTube while doing things. It’ll be so nice.
If you decide to get the Google Chromecast streaming media player, please remember that you’ll need subscriptions to certain things to use them. Such as netflix, hulu, and other places like that. You’ll need high-speed internet too, so things work well. 🙂
