Now that I am in my 30’s I knew I needed to start trying to care about my skin more. I know, I should have done that starting.. oh probably my teens. But there’s not much I can do about that now eh?
I heard about Exuviance in passing while on Facebook, and thought. Hmm, yeah, let’s give that a shot!
This performance peel is a 25% blend of AHAs and PHAs, like Glycolic Acid, Mandelic Acid and Gluconolactone. It’s to help with exfoliating dead, dull surface layers of skin, and enhances exfoliation.
I don’t have a ton of fine lines and wrinkles, but I do have problems with uneven skin tone, and funky texture in some parts. My forehead, while not traditionally large pimpled or anything, has little bumps over it and they aren’t really something I ever loved. My hope was that my skin tone and forehead texture would improve.
The Exuviance kit is a two step piece, which enough for about 6 weeks of twice a week treatments. I started at twice a week, got busy, and ended up doing once a week. I still have a couple left, but so far I’ve seen results that I am happy about. In the above picture I am fresh out of a shower and holding up the packets for Step 1 and Step 2.
Step 1 of the Exuviance Performance Peel is actually the peel part, you put it on your skin and wait 10 minutes. That pad goes a long way, since it says to use it on skin that has a lot of sun exposure, I also rub it on my outer arms after I’ve done my face and collar bone area. Then you sit around feeling a bit stiffed skin while the timer ticks away. It’s somewhat sticky, but not an awful sticky. The smell isn’t too strong at all, and aside from not being sure how I felt about the sensation of the peel on my face at first, everything went just fine.
After the 10 minutes you wipe yourself down with the deactivator pad, rinse off with warm water, and put on moisturizer. Thankfully I had some moisturizer and decent lotion.
Overall, I’m happy to say that the bumps on my forehead started to go down after the first use, and the overall tone of my skin is becoming more even. I forgot to take a picture after my most recent shower and round of Exuviance, but I’ll update my post as soon as I get that taken care of. I really have enjoyed my experience and time using Exuviance, and plan to probably use them every year (but not all the time, as I hear you shouldn’t peel your skin allllll the time) to keep my skin looking great.
Have you ever tried a facial/skin peel before? What would you say is your most problematic part of your skin?
