Like many people I am striving to better myself. Sure, I have to go slowly due to chronic pain problems and things like that. So my journey will take longer than someone who has the stamina to bust it all out and go for pushing their limits right away. Actually, it’s just that my limits right now are very small in comparison to those of many..
Anyway… I’m a little too shy and socially nervous to hit up a gym just yet, but that’s alright, Weider Fitness has great products that make working out at home a good option for those like me.
One of the things I was sent to review from Weider fitness was this Lotus Yoga mat. Now, I’ve tried some Yoga here and there without a mat before, not really seeing the point of having one. I discovered that it’s a fair bit more comfortable to have a mat than not! Go figure. Though the cats decided they all wanted to nap or play on the mat, and continue to do so every time I attempt to do yoga. Turds…
Even though yoga is considered ‘gentle’ I still have to take things slowly. I pushed myself too hard one day and could hardly move the following two days. It is what it is, but I will get there!
The second product I was sent from Weider was so confusing when I first saw it. I’ve never heard of a foam roller which is meant to help you ease pain and do some strengthening exercises and stretches.
Our foam roller has been named “the foamy wedge of doom” as it’s sturdy and holy moly do those little bumpies really make you hurt if you’re not sure what to expect! There are many ways to use this foam roller to your advantage in stretching out and in helping loosen up yucky tension. Which… I have a lot of. Pain causes tension, tension cases more pain, it’s a vicious circle of awful yucky feelings that are really exhausting. I’ve started to have Sisi Bear work on using some of the stretches to be done with the foam roller to help with her upper back pain from her posture. Hopefully it’ll help, yesterday was her first night with it.
Do you have any favorite work out things that you use that aren’t huge machines or anything?

due to balance/sight issues, my mom has these DVDs for chair exercises. You do them while sitting. I did them with her a few times thinking I wouldn’t get anything out of it.. They actually do make you work and you feel it in the spots you did.

Ohh, do you think I could actually lose weight doing something like that?
