I really have to wonder how some things make it past the visual test as someone is setting up to take a picture! When it comes to food pictures, appearance has a lot to do with if you actually want to try something.. Or… at least it does for me. Take a look at these ten disgusting looking foods Cid and I found on Pinterest!
Are you ready?
Called German Fried Potato it honestly looks like someone burnt some biscuits made with bacon, and then decided to blend them up before taking a picture. Maybe they tried to make this look like a stuffing? I don’t know, what I do know is that if it looks like it might have been scraped from the bottom of your pan… maybe a picture on Pinterest isn’t the way to go on it. |
I’m sure you’ve seen these before. Unicorn Poop cookies, that’s what they’re called. Usually brightly colored and someones called “Playdoh” cookies, these are… a Paleo take on them. These look like the poop your cat would have if they got into your kids Playdoh. No Unicorn could possibly ever poop something this ugly. Or maybe it’s a colorful mount of chewed up, swallowed, and puked up felt off of a craft room floor. Whatever they are, they don’t look like any cookies or ‘chews’ that I’d ever want to eat. |
Joe, whoever you are, your “special” dish here looks like something I would attempt to feed my cat from some strange natural market, that they maybe ate but then threw back up. Or worse, if someone decided to make a casserole with oatmeal and spinach and then decided to mix it all together once it was cooked and take a ‘pretty’ picture. This is called a “Primal Dinner” if you needed another excuse to avoid trying the whole Primal Eating fad… this picture is a pretty good reason. |
Just the name turns my stomach with this one, Crusty Salmon Shortcakes is just another way to say “I put strawberry syrup in some heavy cream and threw some salmon in! Then let’s throw it on some biscuits with olives on top!”I am really not sure what people in the past were thinking, this is one of those “Retro/Vintage” food pictures you see floating around here and there. Did people really… eat foods this horrid? |
How the idea of any foods suspended in clear Jell-O became a thing I will never know or understand. This lovely dish is chicken feet, pig feet, what looks like tomato slices… but maybe it’s red bell pepper.. ohh funky! Plus some hard boiled egg halves. Where did the other half of the third egg go?Most likely into some other disturbing vintage Jello-O food monstrosity?

I’ll give you a guess as to what this actually is.. No, no, no. It’s not actually cat food that’s supposed to be awesome because of the corn. It’s actually VEGAN ‘tuna’ with corn meant to be put in a sandwich or something. Did I miss the memo about corn or something? Do people actually think this looks good? Creamed, strange, mush… that reminds you of something you’d see in one of those old run down old folks homes that you’d see on a TV show. The one that some character has their parent in because it’s all they can afford and then bad shit goes down? |
I am going to give you a moment to actually behold the horror that is this picture…
Looking somewhat like a mix of foods from a buffet that you puked up shortly after finishing your plate, or perhaps the inside of the garbage bin full of peoples scraps. Someone actually recommends you eat this, and decided this was the best looking picture of the dish. Taco Salad. No, I’m not joking. There is a reason for Taco’s… and a reason for Salad. |
Now before you think this is just another one of those ‘oh so awesome’ attempts to make gross looking Halloween food, I am going to actually make your skin crawl.
This everyone, is a picture of actual TUNA EYEBALLS. Yes, you can buy them, yes apparently you can eat them. See there that I said you can eat them, because there is no way something like that will ever make it into my mouth |
I get that placenta eating has become a thing with some people. They like to roast it, cook it, dry it out and ground it into powders to ingest… but… I’m not really sure about the idea of Deer Placenta Soup. Yep, that is what this is a picture of. Would YOU eat Deer Placenta? |
This picture leaves me questioning if it was pinned with the correct information. Pegged as a Pear-Ginger Tofu Surprise, this strange green and brown mass has me wondering how long it’s been sitting in someone’s teenagers room long forgotten.
The lovely green fuzzy appearance of the main dish looks like it could start bubbling and crawling from the bowl at any moment. Is the surprise that it’s really from another planet? Is it trying to take over the world?! Whatever it is, please kill it with fire. I’m begging you! |
shuddering I don’t know, what do you think? Would you ever eat anything on this list? Have you?
I don’t know of any amount of money that would get me to try anything like this!
Should we do another ‘gross Pinterest foods’ post in the future?
