Back to school time seems to always cause illness to run through all of us here at home. That means 8 people getting something or another once the kids are all shoved in a building with tons of other kids who may or may not be healthy enough to go to school. This also means coughs, runny noses, ear aches, and possible ear infections. Blahh.
Of course it also means getting emails from the school ‘Just do you know your kid has missed X days this trimester!’
Leaving me to think, oh no… really? Because I was not aware that my child has been sick at home. You know, where sick children belong? *ahem!* Anyway…
Ear aches are often a frustrating effect of whatever illness is going around. More so when you’re a kid who gets ear infections easily. Or just has strange sinuses that really cause ear pressure.
For me, I get ear pain whenever I have a stuffy nose and it’s annoying.
The Eardoc was able to come to our rescue, though I couldn’t try it on Risi due to her being under a year old (this product isn’t recommended for anyone under one year… sadly.. so in a month if she gets sick during winter I can at least use it this.) It’s kind of a bummer too, as Risi ended up her first ear infection ever and this probably could have relieved some of that discomfort she was having.
Sisi and I found the ear doc to not only be effective in ear pain due to our sinus pressure, but when put against our cheek bones near the nose helped with the sinus pressure itself. I know off label use but still very useful!
Here’s a short video introducing the Eardoc and showing you how to use it!
I’ve also used the Eardoc on days where the ringing (tinnitus) in my right ear is particularly awful. While it doesn’t take the ringing away, it does take the pain away that it causes, easy and quick!
The Eardoc is non-invasive as you hold it gently behind your ear and allow the vibrations to work their magic. No inserting anything into your ear.
Overall a totally awesome little device that now lives with our meds for the next time someone needs help with their ears. I highly recommend the Eardoc for parents as a way to help with ear discomfort. With regular shipping the Eardoc is currently $55, and you can purchase it at their website.
