When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.
Helen Keller
Good morning all! I hope you had a good weekend! We’re back from our Seattle trip, and I’m a bit more mentally and emotionally recovered from my surgery and returning to work.
Today’s Motivational Monday quote is about happiness, and more so about letting yourself see the possibility of happiness in the future. Rather than trying to hold on to the past and part of your life that is over, look forward. This holds true for any ending – the end of school, where we enter into the overwhelming and confusing world of jobs and being a grownup; the end of a relationship, where we feel the loss of a companion, and most often fail to see the freedom that results from it, and the lessons we should be learning from it, even if those lessons are to avoid being with someone like that again, or to do our best not to make the same mistakes that ended such a situation. Yes, I speak from personal experience… but I’m sure that almost everyone can relate at least a little bit to that.
Anyway… enough of my own drama, I’m sure we all have enough of that to go around the world a few times.
Later,
-C
