From Puritan’s Pride I received the following items:
Açaí, a popular antioxidant,Cranberry Fruit Concentrate, with C & E but without the extra sugarBlueberry Leaf Standardized Extract, from a fruit with one of the highest ORACs out there,Black Raspberry, freeze-dried to maintain all its natural components,Organic Raw Goji Berries, a complete source of protein,Organic Raw Mulberries, packed with iron, calcium and more!
I don’t really eat enough fruits, mostly because of my texture issues make it difficult to really stand most fruits. I can eat apples, unless they’re soft and mealy (fuzzy.. eww), and I can manage pomegranite… but… that’s really it. So trying these items from Puritan was greatly needed. Something to supplement my diet considering my issues.
I’ve never seen a Mulberry before getting these, let alone trying them like this. So it was a little strange to see them and actually attempt to eat them. I didn’t like the texture too much, but found that blended up in a smoothie with orange juice, and vanilla protein powder mix makes these actually tolerable for me. Which, probably isn’t the BEST way to eat them, but its something?
The taste isn’t too bad, but the texture just didn’t end up working for me. Still, in a smoothie works. Right?
Goji berries are… very seedy, very very seedy. Making them very hard for me to eat, even like this. I did my best and managed to eat half of one on it’s own, but this too had to be blended up just so I could manage it. The flavor is light, only kind of sweet, but that’s probably what is expected of these? Then again, like I said I have very limited experiences with fruit.. So that could very well be the typical flavor of these. I figure even if I just blend these up in a smoothie I’m still getting the benefits.
The above picture is one serving of the Acai, Cranberry, Blackberry and Blueberry vitamin’s/supplements. I haven’t actually done with doing some of them 4x a day like recommended, but I’ve added them to my morning routine. I’ve already noticed that I’m feeling a bit better energy wise, and my headaches that I’ve been suffering from for awhile have been lessening. Now I don’t know if it’s 100% the fruits and the extract helping me… but, why not? Considering my diet these are the perfect supplements to help me through my day.
I take these on top of Turmeric, Ashwagandha, Bacopa, Milk Thistle, and Green Tea extract to help me cope with my well being.
Everything I take can be purchased from the Puritan’s Pride website, and I highly recommend checking out their site for your vitamin and supplement needs. When it comes to helping me with my well being, I’m going to continue with my above mix of things instead of resorting to prescription pills.
Do you take any vitamins and supplements personally?
