I was recently given an awesome digital kitchen scale to use and review. I’ve been using a non-digital kitchen scale for far too long and it was just a total pain in the butt to use.
Not to mention it only went up to 4lbs and I often needed to weigh things heavier.
Like the kittens we were fostering. Well okay they weren’t they heavy before, but they’re getting heavier as time goes on!
The MIRA Glass Digital Kitchen Scale with the large platform is available for purchase at Amazon right now.
The kitchen scale measures in fl oz, lbs and oz, grams, and ml. Making this scale perfect for whatever it is you need to measure out. The TARE function allows you to ignore plates, dishes, and any container you might be placing your measured item in.
The large platform allows you to measure on larger items than a smaller scale, and in my case allowed me to weigh 4 1/2 month old kittens. One of our kittens wasn’t eating well recently and was a bit sick. I thought he just had a hairball. But then I noticed he was seeming to be just way to thin and something had to be wrong. All he would do was eat a little, and slowly walk back to the couch and fall asleep.
Yikes! I’d been so caught up in care of the baby and in my attempt to measure my food to have portion control that I’d completely forgotten something important.
It’d been awhile since I’d measured the kittens! So measure I did, and poor Mister Shadow ended up weighing less than his sister who is the runt of the four. Not a good sign at all considering he used to be above her in weight. Thankfully my MIRA scale was here so I could measure all of the kittens one after another very easily.
This scale was ready to go right out of the box and all I had to do was plop the kittens on to get a quick measurement so they weren’t all squirmy and causing issues with a traditional non-digital kitchen scale. Besides, three of them would have already exceeded the 4lb weight limit my non-digital scale had!
This scale hasn’t just been here to weigh the kittens (though I am happy to announce that Shadow has bounced back wonderfully, no longer eats random strings and wrappers (eww), and weighs more than his runt sister once again!), it has helped me measure out food so I know that I’m getting what a serving really is. I always hated measuring cereal out by measuring cups because I wasn’t sure if I was getting the actual serving or not, so I go buy the weight they suggest to make sure I’m getting a serving. No more and no less.
I use this scale on a daily basis too! I weigh things that I pack away in Cid’s lunches as he’s also working on portion control and eating healthier. I am so thankful to have the MIRA scale help in our eating habits, and help me in taking care of tracking the growth of the kittens!
Do you have a kitchen scale? Do you use it on a regular basis if so? If not, would you ever consider getting a kitchen scale to help you with diet and portion control?
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I don’t have a kitchen scale , I tend to ‘guesstimate’ how heavy my ingredients are when baking lol. Maybe if I had one I would be a better baker. I hope your kitten is better, poor baby .

I have a kitchen scale, but am I using it? No! I need to start using it because I know it helps with portion control. I am glad that your kittens are getting better. I like this really nice Mira Stainless steel kitchen scale that you are using.
