The post title happens to be words spoken to me in dance class on Monday.
Hmmm, how would you take such a comment? The speaker is my now partner in our ‘uneven’ dance we’re making up. Honestly, part of me didn’t want to be paired up with him because he kept running me off the dance floor last week. But I sucked it up anyway. So when he’s asking me “Wellllllll what do you have in mind????” Looking at me as if he doesn’t think I can do much, I show him what I have in mind and… he seems shocked that I could do more than stand there or something? I’m not sure. Because I was doing things and he was tripping over his feet. Even when I slowed down to walk through it with him.
The ‘hand wave’ mentioned above was him waving/flapping his hand towards my body. He’s taller than me, and thinner. While I’m all of 5’5″ and not in the best of shape, I am thinner than I was 2 years ago, but heavier than I was last year (I started eating poorly again…) Still, there is something lacking in a filter when someone says such a thing to a fellow student in a “Beginning Rhythm and Movement” class. At least I feel so. Still, I just shrugged and smiled saying “yeah, I guess so.” Before moving on to try and figure out what else we could add to our ‘four sets with 8 counts each, but uneven rhythm.’
About a minute later, he comes behind me and grabs my hips. Ahhhhh….? Do people just really grab people’s hips like that? In a class where we’re working in pairs, do to the same movements side by side? He didn’t even ask! So I was surely a bit caught off guard to have this guy, whose name I just memorized about 35 minutes before, come up behind me and grab my hips!
Thankfully, I brushed it off with a quick eyebrow raise, and then moving out of his touch by trying to go over the steps again with him.
It was really hard to contain me squicked feeling, a part of me wanted to cry, and another part wanted to go tell the teacher I really would like a new partner. Thankfully, I think after tomorrow we’ll be moving on to not being in these new groups, and the teacher seems to like the idea of having different partners each time.
Aside from that, I have not much to report other than a giveaway located in the giveaways page. This time for a Coach Purse (I’ve never owned one before, but it seems very nice from the pictures!) that ends on January 29th at 11:59PM EST. So entire before it’s too late!
Oh, and on an entirely unrelated note: Squicked isn’t a real word according to Chrome spell-checker. It maybe isn’t a real word at all… Still, it struck me as funny that one of the suggested words was Bisquick. o.O
