Today I want to talk to you moms with babies, or soon to be with babies, about difficult stooling/occasional constipation. I know, parenting right? You get to talk about poop!
When Risi was still on formula we had problems all the time trying to keep her comfortable. Her first formula gave her gas, she was moved to Soy formula which made her constipated and in the end we ended up having to give her prune juice at times just to help her go to the bathroom. I ended up using Enfamil’s Gentlease for her, which worked pretty well, though she still suffered from occasional constipation.
Once we were off formula, whole milk gave her problems too, as did soy milk. I currently have her on Almond milk to help with this problem. And now that she’s almost 21 months old, I’m finally finding little ways to make this less of the problem it has been. These include giving her almond milk, watered down juice, and trying to get higher fiber foods into her.
Still, for her first year of life it would have been better to have a solution from the get go. Now there is Enfamil Reguline, it’s an everyday formula designed to help promote soft, comfortable stools and help support digestive health for your baby. Which is something Ris could have used from the get go, and can be used throughout your baby’s first year.
Enfamil Reguline has a blend of two prebiotics, which are a type of carbohydrate also found in breast milk. These prebiotics have been clinically shown in Enfamil Infant formula to promote soft schools. Prebiotics can help feed good bacteria in the digestive system.
It’s amazing the things they can do with formula, so even if you feed from the get go, or have to move to formula for one reason or another. There are so many options out there. Enfamil coming out with Reguline would have been such a help for poor Risi’s tummy. My heart broke every time she needed help due to her occasional constipation. If I were to have any more kids in the future (I’m not) I would use Reguline from the start, because everyone wants their baby to experience comfortable stooling
